1 hectare of land with an agricultural outbuilding and a rustic house with an annex to be remodelled.
The land has fruit trees, olive trees, cork oaks and is practically flat.
The one-storey house and the annex need remodelling to make them a dream.
The land has the possibility of electricity, as the houses around it are all electrified. Water is possible through a borehole (which doesnt exist yet). This is the technique used by everyone in the area.
The land gives access to a medieval pavement. Imagine yourself in a place where mixing the rustic with the modern is a privilege that few will ever have.
Carreiras is an old Portuguese parish in the municipality of Portalegre, with an area of 33.32 km² and 583 inhabitants (2011) (it had 674 inhabitants in 2001). Its population density was 17.5 inhabitants per square kilometre (2011).
There are traces of very ancient human occupation in this parish. From the Neolithic period, the settlement of Veloso and the dolmen of the João Martins estate, close to the dolmen of Soveral, in the municipality of Castelo de Vide, have been identified. Coins from the 1st century AD and traces of settlements from the High Middle Ages have since been discovered.
The village, with more than likely medieval origins, was born from a meeting place for the regions shepherds (cabreiros) in Rossio. Nearby was a small fortified stronghold, perhaps of earlier origin, which was meant to shelter the cattle and the population in case of need.
The church of São Sebastião, perhaps built over an ancient sanctuary, was probably built in the Lower Middle Ages. It was rebuilt at the end of the 16th century and in the last decades of the 18th century.
The urbanisation of the village was probably intended to connect older housing estates, identifiable in the places called Castelo, Castelinho, Arrabalde and Cabril. Although its layout is adapted to the contours of the Castelo de Vide mountainside, it does show a concern for regularity. It probably dates back to the early 16th century.
