Stunning landscapes characterize the parish, especially between the Ribeira de Nisa valley and the Jogo da Bola plateau. The diverse colors of the centuries-old chestnut groves paint the scenery, dotting here and there threshing floors, apiary walls, granite shelters and, of course, the river that gives it its name. Pine, cork oak, chestnut and olive trees abound, as well as good land with fruit trees.

The Basketry Art Museum is a tribute to the work of the basket makers from this parish, preserving the work and memories of the people of the parish.
